March 10, 2020Our experts at the TXID San Antonio Hyperhidrosis Clinic offer a comprehensive approach for treatment of excessive sweating (Hyperhidrosis)
What is hyperhidrosis ?
Hyperhidrosis refers to excessive sweating in one body area. It usually affects armpits (axilla) and palms.
New treatment options for hyperhidrosis are now offered in San Antonio Hyperhidrosis Clinic
The state-of-the art San Antonio Hyperhidrosis Clinic now offers a new radio frequency technique for treatment of hyperhidrosis. In this technique, radio frequency energy delivers to area affected with hyperhidrosis. The delivered energy to sweat glands cause a significant reduction in sweating. Additional options are Botox injections to affected area as well as topical product (Hydrosal) that contains 15% aluminium chloride in a 2% salicylic acid gel base. A recent open-label study on 30 patients with primary axillary hyperhidrosis showed a significant improvement in patients’ excessive sweating. Previous products that contained aquous alchohol seemed to be too irritating for patients.
Botox is considered a very effective treatment for hyperhidrosis. Botox injections for hyperhidrosis typically lasts for about 4-6 months whereas the radio frequency technique offers more prolonged reduction in sweating.
