    • What are AFT treatments like ?
    Treatments will last 20-30 minutes (depending on how much skin needs to be treated). Each inch of skin will receive 1-3 pulses depending on the severity of the condition. Advances in science have helped the pulses to be nearly painless. In the cases of mild discomfort, a topical anesthetic may be used to numb the treatment area. After treatment the skin may appear red for a period of 2-24 hours, although the redness in most patients usually disappears within one hour of treatment.

Do not ingest or rub in any photosensitizing substances 48 hours before or after treatment including antioxidants, products such as St. John’s Wort, and/or any skin creams containing acids. You should avoid lengthy sun exposure for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment. In order to improve the laser’s effect and reduce the possibility of complication, bubble baths and/or foreign chemicals should not be applied to the treatment area for at least 48 hours prior to treatment. Do not take aspirin for 48 hours before or after the procedure.
